KOCHI: Entertainment major PVR plans to have 500 screens in the country in the next two years, a top official of the company said today.

"Our plan is to have 500 screens by 18-24 months with total investment of Rs 1,000-1,200 crore," Pramod Arora, Group President, PVR Ltd told reporters here.

Of the total 500 screens, 360 screens at 86 cinemas in 38 cities have already been launched. Another 140 would be launched with Rs 280 crore investment, he said.

Spreading its footprint in Kerala, PVR today launched its nine screen complex at Lulu Mall, the largest mall in the state.

Multiplex foray itself takes a lot of management's bandwidth. "Our focus is on developing more and more better and better cinema", he said.
