Mumbai Mantra to screen 10 films in a yr

Mahindra’s movie dream factory is focusing on producing 8-10 Hindi, five Bengali and five Bhojpuri films, and around 6-8 titles spread over Tamil and Telegu productions yearly.

KOLKATA: The movie screen is panning out. Mumbai Mantra Media, floated via a venture capital fund where auto major M&M is one of the prime contributories, has lined up 10 films slated to roll out over the next one year. The portfolio embraces five Hindi, one English/Hollywood and four regional titles.

The regional titles include a couple of Bengali and two Bhojpuri films. The Bollywood package comprises Supam Verma���s Acid Factory, Sanjay Jha Mastan���s Mumbai Chakachak, Glenn Barreto���s Sab Se Peeche Hum Khade, Nupur Asthana���s Night Club and Onir���s Sorry Bhai.

Mumbai Mantra���s first international film is Pan Nalin���s Buddha. For Buddha, Mumbai Mantra has stitched up a deal with Paris-based Monsoon Films on the operational front.

���On the budget front, while Acid Factory is bracketed in the range of Rs 25-40 crore, the other Hindi titles are in the Rs 15-20 crore band. Buddha, for which the casting process is now on, is likely to see an outlay of $10-15 million. The regional films should be completed for Rs 2-2.5 crore,��� Mumbai Mantra CEO Indranil Chakraborty said.

As far as the Bengali basket goes, Mahindra���s movie finance and production arm is working to reel out Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury���s Antaheen and Gaurab Pandey���s Shukna Lanka.
