Moser Baer acquires Hindi, Gujarati titles from Ultra Video

Optical storage manufacturer Moser Baer on Monday said it has acquired Hindi and Gujarati titles from home video labels - Ultra Video to strengthen its presence in the domestic video market.

NEW DELHI: Optical storage manufacturer Moser Baer on Monday said it has acquired Hindi and Gujarati titles from home video labels - Ultra Video to strengthen its presence in the domestic video market.

"With this acquisition, we own licenses for over 2500 Hindi titles and for over 400 Gujarati titles. This acquisition enables us to offer some latest hit titles to consumers at affordable prices by leveraging our proprietary technology, " Moser Baer Chief Executive Entertainment Business Harish Dayani said in a statement.

The company would commence marketing of these titles in India from next month.

The company has acquired 800 Hindi and 100 Gujarati film titles out of Ultra Video's 2200 titles, it said.

Moser Baer would release video content of these titles on DVD and VCD formats using its proprietary technology, it added.

Moser Baer is close to acquiring copyrights and exclusive licences for more than 9,000 titles in all major Indian languages, it added.
