The project marks Bay’s first creative association with an Indian studio.
Bay, one of the highest-grossing filmmakers globally with franchises such as Transformers, Bad Boys and Armageddon, announced the collaboration through his social media.
He said the project would blend Hollywood-scale action with Indian storytelling.
The film will be directed by D’Souza, known for commercial titles such as Boss, Blue and Azhar. Academy Award-winning composer A R Rahman will score the music.
The collaboration comes as Bhanushali Studios expands its slate of large-scale films and international partnerships.
The studio has previously announced collaborations with Warner Bros Pictures, Colour Yellow Productions, True Story Films and AAZ Films.
Vinod Bhanushali, chairman and managing director of Bhanushali Studios, said the partnership reflects the company’s ambition to position Indian stories for global audiences.
The film is currently in early development, with further details expected to be announced in the coming months.
