Sony Pictures Networks India CFO, General Counsel to retire on August 31

SPNI had recently appointed Gaurav Banerjee as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective on or before August 26, 2024, pending regulatory approvals.

Sony Pictures Networks India has announced the retirement of General Counsel Ashok Nambissan and Chief Financial Officer Nitin Nadkarni, effective August 31, 2024.

SPNI had recently appointed Gaurav Banerjee as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective on or before August 26, 2024, pending regulatory approvals.

Banerjee, who is currently the head of content for Hindi entertainment and Disney+ Hotstar at Star India, will succeed NP Singh, who has led SPNI for the last 10 years as MD and CEO.


Nitin Nadkarni, a key member of SPNI since 2005, has significantly enhanced the company's commercial operations through innovative strategies and diligent management, the company said in a statement.

Ashok Nambissan has been a part of SPNI since 2007, playing a crucial role in shaping its legal and regulatory framework and ensuring compliance across all operations. He oversaw the corporate relations, legal and regulatory affairs, and standards & practices functions for SPNI's businesses in India.

He was instrumental in significant achievements such as renegotiating IPL rights and acquiring Ten Sports. His strategic insights and legal expertise have consistently propelled the organisation forward.
