NDTV Q1 revenue up 54%

NDTV on Tuesday announced a 54 per cent increase in revenue for the quarter ended June 30, 2006, at Rs 64 crore against Rs 41.5 crore in the corresponding period last year.

NEW DELHI: Media company, NDTV on Tuesday announced a 54 per cent increase in revenue for the quarter ended June 30, 2006, at Rs 64 crore against Rs 41.5 crore in the corresponding period last year.
The company, which comprises news channels like NDTV 24X7, NDTV India and NDTV Profit, said profit after tax and before ESOP stood at Rs 2.7 crore against Rs 23 lakh in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
"EBIDTA for Q1 is at Rs 8.17 crore compared with Rs 4.26 crore in the same quarter of the previous year," NDTV said.
The company said it added 75 first-time advertisers and 175 new brands this quarter, taking its total brand and advertising kitty to 2,261.
"Going forward, we remain focused on becoming a composite media house and will continue to pioneer new areas of media work," NDTV Chairman Prannoy Roy said.
