23 journalists presented Matree Shree awards

NEW DELHI: Twenty-three news persons were on Saturday awarded the Matree Shree media awards for 2008 for their contribution towards journalism.
Among those chosen for the awards this year are Manoj C G and Manavendra Vashisht (both PTI), Kanak (PTI-Bhasha), Meetali Mohanty Ghosh (UNI), S Abhishek (UNI-Varta) and Avishek Dastidar (Hindustan Times).
Nirmal Dhankar of Doordarshan and Bhim Prakash Sharma of AIR were among the other winners.
The film 'Chak De India' was declared the best movie of the year.
The awards were given away by Chief Editor of India TV Rajat Sharma.
