Reliance's JioHotstar and Peacock Hub in first-of-its-kind partnership in grand finale of Koffee with Karan

"For the first time, The Peacock Hub goes beyond being a destination for global content in India to support a locally produced Indian original," JioHotstar said in a press statement.
JioHotstar and NBCUniversal had launched The Peacock Hub in India in 2023 and has ever since stacked JioHotstar's content libraries with shows including Peacock Originals such as All Her Fault, PONIES, The Copenhagen Test and The Five Star Weekend.
This collaboration now changes the platform's presence which was built on content distribution and acquisition.
"The Peacock Hub choosing Koffee With Karan for that first such collaboration validates something we've believed for years: that Indian IP, built with the right ambition, can compete and collaborate on a global stage," said Alok Jain, Head - Hindi & English Entertainment Business (Streaming, TV & Studios), JioStar.
Karan Johar, Bollywood producer, director and host of Koffee With Karan, said the show started two decades back wanting nothing more than coffee, honest conversation, and a little indiscretion with people which he loves. However, collaborating with The Peacock Hub makes the show belong to the bigger world too.
"We’re delighted to partner with JioHotstar on Koffee With Karan, one of India’s most celebrated entertainment properties, for its landmark final season,” said Chris Taylor, Managing Director, APAC, NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution and International Networks & DTC.
Season 9 of Koffee With Karan will premiere on The Peacock Hub on JioHotstar. This will be the final season of the show, bringing the curtain down on a 22-year run.
JioHotsar's collaboration with The Peacock Hub for Koffee With Karan also highlights how global studios view India as they are not only localising existing formats but have an appetite for Indian-made content.
