Ketan Mehta to produce two more animation films

MUMBAI: Director Ketan Mehta, whose animation film, ' Ramayana - The Epic' hits cinema houses on Dusshera, intends to come up with two more animation films soon.

"We have plans to produce two more animation films. We are working on the projects. It is too premature to talk anything about them," Mehta told PTI, refusing to divulge details about this film.

"We want to tell different kind of stories. Not necessary it will be on lines of 'Ramayana - The Epic'," he said.

'Ramayana - The Epic' is a mythological adventure, picturised in a stylised and contemporary manner.

"The subject of the film - Ramayana, even today holds appeal. Though people in India know about it, I think animation is the only way to retell the story in all its glory to the younger generation here and abroad," the 58-year-old filmmaker said.

The film is directed by debutant Chetan Desai. "The film's length has been maintained at 108 minutes since the audience is chiefly children and young adults," Mehta said.

Actors Manoj Bajpayee, Juhi Chawla and Ashutosh Rana have lent their voices to the lead characters of Ram, Sita and Ravan respectively.
