JioStar, TNT Sports, Willow and Cricbuzz secure broadcast rights for European T20 Premier League

The European T20 Premier League (ETPL), Europe's first ICC-sanctioned franchise T20 league, has signed broadcast agreements with JioStar, TNT Sports, HBO Max, Willow and Cricbuzz for its inaugural season, scheduled to be held from August 26 to September 20.

Under the agreements, JioStar will televise and stream the tournament in India across its linear and digital platforms. TNT Sports will be the linear broadcast partner in the UK and Ireland, with HBO Max streaming the competition digitally.

Willow and Cricbuzz will broadcast the league across television and digital platforms in the United States, Canada, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and Southeast Asia (SEA).


The tournament will feature six city-based franchises representing Glasgow, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Dublin, Belfast and Rotterdam. A total of 32 matches will be played, featuring emerging European talent alongside established international players.

Priyanka Kaul, Co-Founder of ETPL, said the partnerships would provide global visibility for the league's franchises, players and commercial partners while helping showcase European cricket to audiences worldwide.

Brian MacNeice, Chair of Cricket Ireland, said the league represented a significant opportunity for the growth of cricket in Europe by providing a platform to develop emerging talent and expand the sport's reach.

Prashant Khanna, Head of Rights & Innovation for Sports at JioStar, said ETPL reflected cricket's growth beyond its traditional markets and would offer Indian viewers a mix of emerging European talent and established international players.

Trojan Paillot, Senior Vice President, Rights, Syndication and Commercial Development at WBD Sports Europe, said the competition would add to TNT Sports' portfolio of live sports programming while introducing a new cricket property to audiences in the UK and Ireland.

Todd Myers, Chief Operating Officer of Willow, said the league reflected cricket's continued global expansion and would help connect audiences across North America, the Middle East and North Africa, and Southeast Asia with a new European franchise competition.

ETPL said its franchise ownership group includes Steve Waugh, Rahul Dravid, Jonty Rhodes, Matthew Hayden, Faf du Plessis and Heinrich Klaasen, among others.
