JioStar is betting big on the growing popularity of the Premier League in India with its new campaign, ‘Humara Long Distance Love’, featuring actor Tiger Shroff and cricketers Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag.

The campaign, launched ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season, comprises three films that use the idea of a long-distance relationship to capture the loyalty and passion of Indian football fans.

Shroff, Samson and Parag, all Premier League supporters, feature in the films and bring their own connections with the competition to the campaign.

The films initially present the celebrities as though they are talking about romantic relationships before revealing that their devotion is actually directed towards their respective football clubs.

In ‘The Workout’, Shroff channels his frustration during an intense gym session before revealing a Manchester United jersey and reaffirming his support for the club.

In ‘The Date’, Parag appears to be preparing for a date at home. The scene takes a turn when a group of friends wearing Manchester United jerseys arrive to watch the season opener.

Samson’s film, ‘The Long Wait’, focuses on the challenges of following Liverpool while travelling for cricket. His hotel room eventually fills with friends wearing Liverpool jerseys ahead of the match.

“Being a football fan teaches you that you don’t just support a club when it’s winning — you stand by it through every high and every low,” Shroff said. “As fans, we invest so much emotionally, and every Premier League supporter in India knows exactly what that journey feels like.”

Samson said Liverpool matches remain “non-negotiable” for him despite his frequent travel commitments.

“The distance and sacrifices are real, but so is the love,” he said. “Millions of Indian fans live it every single week and it is something worth celebrating.”

Parag, a Manchester United fan, described supporting the club as “the very definition of a long-distance relationship”, citing the early mornings, hope and heartbreak that come with following the team.

Prashant Khanna, Head – Sports: Rights & Innovation, JioStar, said the campaign was designed to celebrate the organic growth of Premier League fandom in India.

“Nobody told these fans which club to support. They found their club, fell in love with it, and have remained devoted to it through the late nights, early mornings, the heartbreak and everything in between,” Khanna said.

The 2026/27 Premier League season will begin on August 22 and run until May 30, 2027. Arsenal enter the season as defending champions, while nine clubs have appointed new managers during the summer transfer window.

Five managers will also take charge of a Premier League match for the first time in their coaching careers.

Arsenal will face newly promoted Coventry City on the opening night. All 380 matches will be available live and exclusively in India on JioHotstar and the Star Sports Network.
