JioSaavn crosses 500 million downloads on Google Play

JioSaavn has announced that it has surpassed 500 million downloads on the Google Play Store, making it the only Indian music streaming service to reach this scale.

With this milestone, JioSaavn is now the second most downloaded entertainment app in India, behind JioHotstar, which recently crossed 1 billion downloads.

Together, the numbers point to the expanding footprint of Reliance’s digital services across content categories.


According to the company, the growth has been driven by product updates and a sharper focus on user experience.

Over the past year, JioSaavn introduced an overhauled home feed, improved multilingual search, and expanded personalised recommendations. Features such as Daily Mixes and From the Community playlists have also contributed to higher engagement and music discovery.

JioSaavn said recent subscription offers played a role in sustaining download momentum. Its promotional Pro plans, which included a two-month audio subscription for Rs 9 and an annual plan at Rs 399, saw strong uptake through the last quarter, the company added.

With this milestone, JioSaavn said it plans to continue investing in product development and partnerships as it looks to consolidate its position in India’s competitive audio streaming market.
