JioCinema inks multi-year deal with NBCU

Viacom18-owned streaming service JioCinema has inked a multi-year deal with NBCUniversal (NBCU) to bolster its premium content library. According to sources privy to the development, the content deal is valued at $15-20 million per year.

The content portfolio includes titles from Universal Television, UCP, Universal International Studios, Universal Television Alternative Studio, Sky Studios, DreamWorks Animation, Universal Pictures, Focus Features, and Bravo. NBCU's programming will be available as a Peacock-branded hub starting next month under the JioCinema Premium SVOD tier. Recently, JioCinema launched a premium paid service for Hollywood content priced at ₹999 per year featuring HBO and Warner Bros content. Last month, Viacom18 inked a deal with Warner Bros Discovery that will see it pay upwards of $20 million in annual licence fees to the American media giant.
