IRF confers PVR Cinemas with 'Retailer of the Year' award

PVR Cinemas has been conferred with the 'Retailer of the Year' award by India Retail Forum (IRF) 2007, for its corporate social responsibility initiatives including those for the underprivileged children.

NEW DELHI: PVR Cinemas has been conferred with the 'Retailer of the Year' award by India Retail Forum (IRF) 2007, for its corporate social responsibility initiatives including those for the underprivileged children.

"This acknowledgement will most definitely reinforce and add vigour to our commitment on various initiatives for education, socio-economic development of underprivileged children at and around PVR Cinemas," PVR Ltd Chairman and Managing Director Ajay Bijli said in a statement.

PVR's initiatives include programmes like running workshops at Basant Vihar Community Centre, literacy program for economically weaker sections, initiative to demonstrate environment conservation practices in and around PVR Cinemas and special joint screening of green films.

The award was presented to the company at the India Retail Forum 2007 event hosted in Mumbai, where over 2,000 captains of the retail world participated in various events, the statement added.
