HC to hear PIL on banning 'Omkara'

The Allahabad High Court on Monday fixed September 11 next for further hearing of a petition seeking a ban on Ajay Devgan-Saif Ali Khan starrer 'Omkara' for its "abusive" language.

LUCKNOW: The Allahabad High Court on Monday fixed September 11 next for further hearing of a petition seeking a ban on Ajay Devgan-Saif Ali Khan starrer 'Omkara' for its "abusive" language.

The petition was filed in the Lucknow Bench of the court on August 31 by a local lawyer.

The petitioner pleaded that the film contained "abusive" language which was against the interest of society.

The Uttar Pradesh government had recently exempted the film, directed by Vishal Bharadwaj of 'Maqbool' fame, from entertainment tax.
