Giving promotes inclusiveness: Nandita Das
Actress Nandita Das, who has pledged her support to the Joy of Giving Week says the initiative will create a stronger connect among people.
"Giving has always been part of our culture and the initiative invites every Indian to come together and give something. They can help with their time, money or skills," the actress said.
Nandita, who has been working with the issues related to women and children, said that she decided to become the part of the campaign because it creates a sense of social inclusiveness.
The actress is among the several other celebrities from different walks of life, who have promised to endorse the social initiative by making specific contributions of time, skills, money and resources for the week from September 27 to October 3.
Conceptualised by GiveIndia, the initiative aims to get people from all walks of life together to engage in acts of giving--money, time, skills or simple acts of kindness.
The 'Joy of Giving Week' is being celebrated in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore.
The other celebrities, who have pledged their support include Farah Khan, Mani Ratnam, Tamil stars like Suriya, Madhavan, Shriya Saran; Telugu stars like Venkatesh, Vishnu, Manoj Kumar.
