Freecharge partners with Mexico-based movie theatre chain Cinepolis
With the partnership going live in the second week of March, customers can pay for movie tickets and Food& Beverages (F&B) across 38 Cinepolis theatres in 28 Cities using the FreeCharge wallet.
FreeCharge is the first digital wallet partner for Cinepolis, the world’s 4th largest chain of movie theatres. Movie goers will be able to pay using their registered mobile numbers with FreeCharge at the existing card machine(s) available at the payment counter. The transactions will get completed in a most secure manner within 10 seconds using the dynamic ‘On-The-Go-Pin’. The partnership will further help Cinepolis get access to FreeCharge’s robust partner network and bring more value to its consumers and partners.
Mr. Govind Rajan, Chief Operating Officer, FreeCharge said, “India is one of the fastest growing markets for movie digital payments. Partnership with Cinepolis is a huge opportunity to build the habit of digital payments. Our endeavour is to be the digital payment OS for a digital India and we plan to expand reach of the FreeCharge wallet to every POS offline and online.”
FreeCharge had recently registered one million transactions a day on its platform and had signed a partnership with mobile payments company Ezetap to enable its wallet users to make offline payments at Ezetap's point-of-sale terminals.
