Former Satyam BPO officials launch animation company

HYDERABAD: Six of the erstwhile senior officials of the Satyam BPO, including its former Chief Executive Officer(CEO) Venkatesh Roddam and ex-Chief Financial Officer(CFO) Satyanarayana Mudunuri, have launched an animation company, VenSat, which has completed 10 projects and has six projects in the pipeline.

Addressing mediapersons here today, Roddam said the Bangalore-based Indo-US venture partners invested in the range of $5 million in the company to drive its operations and growth including six projects the company currently undertook, at an estimated cost of $10 million.

The company, which proposed to increase its headcount from 110 to 250 by the end of first quarter of 2011, would open its office Ascendas V Park in Chennai later this month.

Vensat, with its focus on 2D and 3D animation and conversion of 2D into 3D, had executed graphics in the Rajnitkanth-starrer box-office hit Robot (Endhiran in Tamil), Telugu-flick 'Komuram Puli', and Bollywood blockbuster 'Dabangg' among others, Roddam said.
