Festive Cheer at Box Office! PVR INOX crosses 50% occupancy as audiences return in droves

PVR INOX Ltd is riding high on a strong Dussehra weekend, setting the stage for a vibrant festive season after clocking over 50% occupancy across its theatres.

The Dussehra weekend, which coincided with Gandhi Jayanti, drew more than 8.5 lakh moviegoers, with occupancy levels crossing the halfway mark, the company said in a statement.

“Our theatres are alive with the energy of audiences across India this festive season,” said Gautam Dutta, CEO, Revenue & Operations, PVR INOX Ltd.


With the second quarter already showing healthy momentum, the multiplex chain said it is “poised for an exciting season ahead” as several promising releases line up.

Apart from Bollywood and Hollywood titles like Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1, Jolly LLB, and One Battle After Another, regional films are also drawing packed houses.

“Films such as Idli Kadai (Tamil/Telugu), Maria (Tamil), Vada Pav (Marathi), and Nikka Zaildar 4 (Punjabi) are making a strong impact at the box office, showcasing the diversity of India’s cultural storytelling,” the company added.

PVR INOX currently operates 1,757 screens across 353 properties in 111 cities in India and Sri Lanka.
