Eros-Photon to co-produce Tamil flick

CHENNAI: Eros International Media has joined hands with Photon Kathaas Production for co-producing a Tamil movie titled 'Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru' (John: Chapter 1). This was revealed in an announcement that Eros made to the stock exchanges Monday.

The Vijay starrer, to be directed by Photon's founder Gautham Vasudev Menon, will have music by AR Rahman. Production for the movie is expected to commence from the second quarter of 2012, said the announcement.

"We are quite excited about the relationship with Eros. We believe this is the beginning of a long term relationship with Eros that will produce many successful films together," Venkat Somasundaram, CEO of Photon Kathaas, was quoted as saying.

The release quoted Menon as saying, "I have found the ideal partners in Eros for a film on this scale, which needs to be produced and released on an international scale." Photon Kathaas Production, the brainchild of Menon, has AR Rahman as creative advisor.

The company also has producer Michael Rosenberg as its chairman. It was established in 2009 and is listed on LSE's AIM exchange.
