Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar: The Revenge hits screens on March 19 with one of the biggest pre-release booking surges in the history of Indian cinema. With paid premieres scheduled a day earlier, the Ranveer Singh-starrer has already crossed Rs 50 crore in domestic advance sales and is targeting a worldwide opening day collection of up to Rs 200 crore.

Premiere shows: India's biggest ever

The film's opening day pre-sales in India have crossed Rs 50 crore gross including collections from paid premiere shows scheduled on March 18, a day before the official release. The premiere advance booking alone has crossed Rs 33 crore gross, making it the biggest premiere performance ever recorded in India.

Of the Rs 50 crore total, the preview shows have brought in over Rs 33 crore, while opening day bookings have earned around Rs 16 crore from the sale of approximately 3.6 lakh tickets, according to PVR and BookMyShow. Over 7.10 lakh tickets have been sold for the premiere across 23,000-plus combined shows.

Day 1 and opening weekend numbers

For the official Day 1 on March 19, domestic advance sales have crossed Rs 30.75 crore with over 6.75 lakh tickets sold across 15,000-plus shows. Overseas pre-sales stand at approximately Rs 65 crore for the opening weekend, taking the combined total for the opening weekend to over Rs 136 crore including block seats.

As of 10 PM on March 17, Dhurandhar: The Revenge had sold around 6.70 lakh tickets in the top two national chains, PVR INOX and Cinepolis, for the opening day including paid previews. Of this, around 3.70 lakh tickets were for the premiere day and 3 lakh for the opening day. In North America alone, the film has earned close to $5 million from advance bookings for the opening weekend, with strong demand also reported in the UK and Australia, Times of India reported.

Trade experts indicate the film is expected to make box office history, with advance booking collections reaching record-breaking numbers. The film has sold nearly 15 lakh tickets across India prior to release, with premiere bookings alone bringing in Rs 36 crore described as a new Indian record. Day one advance bookings have added a further Rs 21 crore to the total, TOI reported.

Industry analysts are forecasting the film could surpass Rs 150–200 crore on opening day worldwide, with a weekend prediction of Rs 500 crore or more over the first three days, driven by the pan-India multilingual release and strong overseas interest.

Theatres running round the clock

The unprecedented demand has led exhibitors to schedule post-midnight and early-morning shows even before the first day of release. According to PVR, theatres in major circuits like Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad have opened bookings for shows starting as early as 2:00 AM on Thursday. In Mumbai, MovieMax Sion and MovieMax Wonder Mall in Thane are running multiple screenings between 2:15 AM and 5:30 AM.

The sequel's advance booking for premiere shows on March 18 is scheduled across more than 9,000 shows, per Sacnilk. To build further momentum, the first installment was re-released globally on March 13, 2026, across more than 1,000 screens.

On BookMyShow, over 5 lakh users have marked interest in the sequel. The first film, Dhurandhar, sold over 1.3 crore tickets on the platform, making it the highest-selling Hindi film in BookMyShow's history.

The prequel's benchmark

The original Dhurandhar grossed Rs 1,056.62 crore in India and Rs 293.03 crore overseas, for a worldwide total of Rs 1,349.65 crore, making it the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025, the second highest-grossing Hindi film of all time, and the highest-grossing 'A'-certified Indian film ever. Dhurandhar: The Revenge releases worldwide on March 19, 2026, in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
