Chennai to get training centre for film technicians: Kamal Hassan
Chennai may soon get its own skill development centre to train technicians, stuntmen, and others who work behind the screens in movies, said Tamil actor Kamal Hassan.
“There are no proper facilities for these people and we are looking at setting up one,” he said. “The details are yet to be worked out.”
Hassan was speaking at the curtain-raiser of the 4th annual edition of the Media and Entertainment Business Conclave. This time, he said, the event will commemorate 100 years of Indian cinema. The event is scheduled for October 16 and 17 in Chennai.
Hollywood director and producer, Barrie Osborne, who produced The Lord of the Rings trilogy and is backing a Kamal Hassan project, will be present at the event and will talk about “a 360 degree approach to producing a global film.”
Malayalam actors Mohan Lal, Dileep, Jayaram and Mamooty will take part in the conclave. Apart from them, over 600 delegates are expected to attend it. The Media and Entertainment Business Conclave was started in Chennai in 2009.
