Charlie Chaplin to star in 3-D TV series

Charlie Chaplin is set to be brought back from the grave to star in a new animated 3-D series.

LOS ANGELES: Silent movie icon Charlie Chaplin is set to be brought back from the grave to star in a new animated 3-D series.

Producers at DQ Entertainment, Method Animation and MK2 are developing a yet-to-be-named programme for television, mobile, home video and Internet viewers, Variety online reported.

The first season will consist of 104 six-minute episodes in colour and without dialogue, showing Chaplin's character travelling around the world.

"There won't be any direct movie adaptations. We will use gags from the films, pay homage and try and keep the spirit of Chaplin," Method president Aton Soumache said.

The series is expected to debut in spring 2011.
