Big Pictures to push distribution

Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group outfit Big Pictures is shoring up its distribution slate. While Big had distributed around 12 films in the last 18 months, the company has now lined up 18 titles for 2009-10.

KOLKATA: Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group outfit Big Pictures is shoring up its distribution slate. While Big had distributed around 12 films in the last 18 months, the company has now lined up 18 titles for 2009-10. The films embrace seven Indian languages which will be distributed in India and across 30 countries where Big Pictures has panned out. Big is also exploring markets like Spain, Japan and Holland.

Big Pictures has positioned distribution offices in nine major centres in India. Overseas, the key territories under its umbrella include the US/Canada, UK, Norway, Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Middle East, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore.

���We are planning to tap new markets like Spain, Japan and Holland. The company has offices in the US and UK where we distribute films on our own. In the rest of the markets, we are tying up with local distributors as that���s the best way to operate,��� Big Pictures COO (international distribution), Jawahar Sharma, said.
