MUMBAI: Bollywood's famous Bachchan family will lead a bevy of film stars in a glittering stage show that will travel around the world to promote Hindi-language films.
Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, his star son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai, a former Miss World, will be the high point of the year-long show that begins Friday.
Stage shows -- in which top Bollywood actors dance to popular film songs -- are a big draw for Indians living overseas and a major money spinner for the stars.
"It is almost a decade since I went to do any stage show on this scale. In our first leg of our tour we are going to cover 11 cities in Europe, US, and Canada," Amitabh Bachchan said in Mumbai late Friday.
The actors will dance to 70 Bollywood melodies and will be accompanied by 40 professional dancers on stage.
The actors will go to Africa and Southeast Asia, before returning to India, where they will perform in several cities.
Rehearsals have been underway for several weeks. "We all have been doing rehearsals for all the songs and dances for last one month before the show. We are looking forward to meeting all our fans across the world," Rai said.
