Almighty Motion Picture has announced the development of a seven-part web series based on one of the most alarming cyber crimes currently impacting India — the ‘Digital Arrest’ scam, a sophisticated form of financial fraud that has shaken citizens across age groups and social strata.

Rooted in true incidents, the series is inspired by a real-life investigation in which Indian law enforcement agencies successfully recovered one of the highest amounts ever traced and returned to victims. The story exposes an international cyber crime nexus operating from outside the country, targeting Indian citizens with chilling precision.

Prabhleen Sandhu, co-founder, Almighty Motion Picture, said, “This is not just a cyber crime story — it is an economic attack on ordinary citizens of our country. ‘Digital Arrest’ has destroyed families, futures, and trust. We believe this story is the need of the hour. If cinema can inform, alert, and help prevent even a few such crimes, then it becomes a responsibility, not just entertainment.”

The ‘Digital Arrest’ scam has emerged as a silent economic assault, preying on fear, authority, and digital illiteracy. Victims range from senior citizens to young professionals, many of whom were not only emotionally traumatised but also lost their entire life savings within hours. In several cases, the consequences have been life-altering and deeply distressing.

This upcoming series is envisioned as a race-against-time thriller, following investigators as they dismantle a global fraud network while attempting to save victims before irreversible damage is done. Beyond suspense and drama, the series aims to create mass awareness, educating audiences about how such scams operate and why they pose a serious threat to both individual security and the national economy.

With its strong investigative core, real-world relevance, and high emotional stakes, the series is positioned as a socially urgent, edge-of-the-seat narrative that blends realism with cinematic storytelling. Almighty Motion Picture plans to take the project to leading OTT platforms, aiming for wide reach and impact across India and globally.
