With its Day 33 earnings on Tuesday amounting to Rs 5.70 crore nett, the Ranveer Singh-led film took its total India net collection to Rs 831.40 crore, securing the top spot among all Hindi releases so far.
Announcing the milestone, the makers said in an official statement: "History has been rewritten. With Tuesday's collections, 'Dhurandhar' has officially risen to become the highest-earning Hindi film of all time, a towering achievement that has redefined Indian box office success."
Previous Record Holders
The record was previously held by the Hindi version of Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, which had earned Rs 830 crore in Hindi.
Other top-grossing Hindi films include Jawan, featuring Shah Rukh Khan, with earnings of Rs 643 crore, and the horror-comedy Stree 2, which collected Rs 627 crore.
The box office performance of Dhurandhar reflects a steady and powerful run. The film earned Rs 218 crore in its opening week, followed by Rs 261.50 crore in week two, Rs 189.30 crore in week three, and Rs 115.70 crore in week four. It added Rs 35.80 crore during its fifth weekend and continued to perform consistently on weekdays.
Film Plot and Cast
Dhurandhar is a high-octane spy thriller, written and directed by Dhar. The film tracks covert intelligence missions against the backdrop of major geopolitical and terror-related events, including the Kandahar plane hijack, the 2001 Parliament attack, and the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
The narrative is largely set in Lyari, Karachi, a locality historically associated with gang wars and violent turf conflicts. The film has sparked polarised reactions among critics and audiences across India.
