NEW DELHI: Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group controlled Adlabs' radio venture, Big 92.7 FM, is all set to hit the airwaves on September 24 from Delhi, the first city from where the group starts broadcast.
Big 92.7 FM, which plans to reach 45 cities, 1,000 towns and 50,000 villages when rolled out across the country, will see the group making an investment of Rs 400 crore towards transmission equipment, infrastructure and licencing.
The radio venture promises to be the largest ever network with an investment of Rs 400 crore for transmission equipment, infrastructure and licensing.
The overall manpower strength would be 1000 employees nationwide and the network would cover 20 cities in the North, 7 cities in the East and 9 cities each in the West and South zone.
It would be launched on September 24, with 12 celebrities supporting the launch day agenda "Sensitising Delhi towards Safety", a company release said.
The celebrities, joining the cause include, Neha Dhupia, Palash Sen, Isha Kopikkar, Akshay Kumar, Soha Ali Khan, Aman Ali among others.
BIG 92.7 FM would have a pan India presence with a reach of 45 cities, 1000 towns and 50,000 villages, it said.
In order to address the competitive nature of radio as a medium and to ensure uniqueness, 'Unique Auditorium Music Tests' were conducted across the country and over 1000 songs were run past the sample audiences to verify the local and urban flavour, the release said.
Pallavi Joshi and Vrijesh Hirjee would conduct programmes in Mumbai, Mona (Jassi) Singh and Gaurav (Nandu) Ghera in Delhi, Kaushik and Sheilajit in Kolkata, C K Chandru and Dayanand in Bangalore, Uma Riaz Khan in Chennai and Jhansi in Hyderabad, it said.
