Vizag steel plant has achieved a 34% jump in sales of saleable steel between April-July 2011 with sales of 8.28 lakh tonnes of saleable steel.

KOLKATA: Vizag steel plant has achieved a 34% jump in sales of saleable steel between April-July 2011 with sales of 8.28 lakh tonnes of saleable steel, against 6.18 lakh tonnes same period last year. With this, the sales turnover during the period (April-July 2011) rose to Rs 3,733 crores against Rs 2,372 crores, representing a 57% growth.

RINL, the company that runs the Vizag steel plant, thus managed to surpass MoU targets with regard to fulfillment of sales turn over during the period. During the same period, RINL also registered a 36% rise in sale of value added steels. It sold some 6.40 lakh tonnes of value added steels between April-July 2011 against 4.70 lakh tonnes during the same period last year.


It also recorded project sales of 2.02 lakh tonnes during the period against 1.49 lakh tonnes in previous corresponding period which represents a growth of 36%. RINL also registered 10 new rural dealers during the period taking the total number of rural dealers to 41 during April-July 2011.
