Videocon seeks coal linkage for its steel plant in West Bengal

Consumer electronics company Videocon Industries is still awaiting coal linkage, its Managing Director Rajkumar Dhoot said today.

KOLKATA: Consumer electronics company Videocon Industries, which expressed interest to set up a steel and power plant in West Bengal in 2007, is still awaiting coal linkage, its Managing Director Rajkumar Dhoot said today.

Dhoot said the company had planned a Rs 20,000 crore steel and power project at Burdwan district.

"We are not holding any piece of land. We will acquire them as soon as we get coal linkage," he told reporters here.

"If we get the coal linkage, we will start work on the plant," he said.
