Trouble mounts up again in Tata Steel's Kalinganagar plant, 17 people injured
There was trouble again at Tata Steel’s Greenfield plant at Kalinganagar, in Jajpur district on Monday leading to at least 17 people being injured.
In an emailed statement, the corporate communications department said," that soon after the agitation started, the mob turned violent and indulged into rioting, vandalising company property and attacking other workers and officers. As the lives of several other workers and officers present were endangered, the security staff had to resort to firing in the air to ward off the attacking workers, in which nobody was hurt."
According to Tata, four people are "grievously injured and under medical treatment." The company has asked respective government agencies to intervene and hopes normalcy will return soon.
