Tata Steel operating in a limited way after eastern power grid failure
Production, however, has not been hampered as such as we have arrangements, Tata Motors spokesman said.
"The operations in Tata Steel are affected and plants are being operated with limitation," company spokesman Prabhat Sharma told PTI.
Tata Motors, however, said that production was not hampered.
"Production has not been hampered as such as we have arrangements, Tata Motors spokesman Capt. P J Singh said.
Emergency services such as hospital were functioning normally, he said.
Production in the largest industrial estate of the eastern region, Adityapur Industrial Estate, was hit.
Production in the majority of the 1400 units including large, medium and small units were badly affected following the grid failure, spokesman of Adityapur Small Industries Association (ASIA) Inder Agarwal, said.
"We do not draw power directly from the central grid. Power providers Jharkhand State Electricity Board and Jamshedpur Utility and Services Company ( JUSCO), a 100 per cent subsidiary of Tata Steel, were afffected by the grid failure," he said.
