Tata Steel inaugurates ‘Art in Industry’ art camp at Jamshedpur

The 17th edition of the art camp will play host to 21 artists across a diverse group of the budding and eminent, from different regions of India.

KOLKATA: Tata Steel inaugurated its ‘ Art in Industry’ art camp at the Centre for Excellence, Jamshedpur on February 18.

The 17th edition of the art camp will play host to 21 artists across a diverse group of the budding and eminent, from different regions of India. Prof R B Bhaskaran, G Subramanian, Ramesh P Gujar, Gouri Vemula are some of the major names who will showcase their skill. The art camp was inaugurated by T V Narendran, managing director, Tata Steel India & South East Asia.

"Art in Industry has a rich history in itself. Tata Steel looks at different ways to connect with the community, Art in Industry in one such way," Narendran said on the occasion.

Over previous editions more than 250 artists have participated in the Art in Industry meets. The concept of Art-in-Industry dates back to 1943 when Tata Steel was one of the prize donors of an exhibition and sale of art in the JJ School of Art, Mumbai.
