With the inauguration of the unit, SAIL can now develop relevant technology parameters for producing heat hardened pellets from geothite / hematite iron ores, an official statement from the ministry said. Mr Tomar was accompanied by the minister of state for steel, mines, labour & employment Vishnu Deo Sai on the occasion. Different units of biological waste water treatment plant for Coke Oven Effluent treatment were also inaugurated on the occasion.
It will help SAIL and the steel industry to conform to stringent environment norms. Addressing the SAIL collective at the event, Tomar said, "Steel is a core industry which reflects the country’s technological status and self-reliance. PM’s vision of Make in India – Made in India needs to be internalised by researchers and technologists of SAIL and the steel sector."
