Steel factory fined for power theft

MUZAFFARNAGAR: Uttar Pradesh electricity department has slapped a fine of Rs 11 crore on a steel factory here for alleged power theft.

The department conducted a raid at the factory and found it was involved in power pilferage, official sources said.

A case of power theft has been registered against the company which had tampered with the meter, Superintendent Engineer Akhil Shrivasatava told reporters here.
