Somdev Das assumes additional charge as ED (DSP)

KOLKATA: Somdev Das, Executive Director, Alloy Steels Plant has assumed additional charge as Executive Director in charge of Steel Authority of India's Durgapur Steel Plant. Das was given the additional charge of DSP after P K Singh, former CEO, DSP was elevated to the top job as chairman, SAIL in New Delhi on December 11, 2015.

Das , who is a metallurgical engineer from BE College, Shibpur, West Bengal and a Post Graduate Management Diploma from AIMA, started his career as a Management Trainee (Technical) at Bhilai Steel Plant of SAIL in 1980. He is an expert in steel making and made significant contribution in the overall operation and improvement in the steel melting shop at Bhilai Steel Plant. He joined Alloy Steels Plant as the Executive Director in 2012 following which ASP has witnessed marked improvements in several key techno-economic indices.
