Shree Uttam Steel & Power signs MoU for Rs 11,156 crore project in Maharashtra

Shree Uttam Steel and Power Ltd (SUSPL) has signed a MoU with the government of Maharashtra for setting up a steel manufacturing facility.

KOLKATA: Shree Uttam Steel and Power Ltd ( SUSPL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Maharashtra for setting up a steel manufacturing facility and a captive power plant at an estimated investment of Rs 11,156 crore.

The project envisages a steel unit with a capacity to produce 1.5 million tonne per annum (mtpa) of hot rolled (HR) coils along with a 40 MW captive power plant at Sindhudurg district in Maharashtra. The integrated project is being set up with an estimated investment of Rs 11,156 crore. The project is likely to generate g employment for nearly 2,500 people.

The MoU for the project was signed by Apurva Chandra, Principal Secretary (Industries) and Anuj R. Miglani, Director, Shree Uttam Steel & Power in the presence of chief minister of Maharashtra, Prithviraj Chavan, the company said in a statement. NBI
