NEW DELHI: Saira prices firmed up on the local iron and steel market on Friday following pick up in demand from construction houses and builders triggered by restricted supply.
Traders said increased demand from builders and constructions houses followed by reduced supply mainly pushed up saria prices.
However, other steel prices ruled flat on small bouts of buying and selling.
In saria section, amba saria (iso-9002) 8-mm, 10-mm, 12-mm and 16-25-mm swifted by Rs.300 each at Rs.29,900, Rs.29,300, Rs.28,500 and Rs.29,200 a tonne respectively.
Amba shakti (tmt) 8-mm, 10 mm, 12 mm and 16 to 25 mm also rose by Rs.300 each at Rs.30,100, Rs.29,500, Rs.28,700 and Rs.29,400 a tonne respectively
