Sajjan Jindal led JSW Steel's May production up 5.4 per cent

JSW Steel today reported 5.43 per cent growth in crude steel production at 10.68 lakh tonnes (LT) in May over the same month last year.

NEW DELHI: JSW Steel today reported 5.43 per cent growth in crude steel production at 10.68 lakh tonnes (LT) in May over the same month last year.

The Sajjan Jindal-led steel maker had produced 10.13 LT steel in May last year, it said in a statement.

Production of flat products grew by 2 per cent to 8.25 LT from 8.06 LT a year ago.

Long products' production increased by 7 per cent to 1.81 LT from 1.68 LT in May, 2013.

Flat steel products are used in industries such as auto and consumer durables; while long steel products like TMT bars and angles are used in the construction sector.
