SAIL's performance praised by PSC

A Parliamentary Committee has praised Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) for achieving full capacity utilisation in 2005-06.

New Delhi: A Parliamentary Committee has praised Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) for achieving full capacity utilisation in 2005-06.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the ministry of steel, in its report on the Demands for Grants for 2006-07, has noted the performance as a satisfactory improvement over the year 2004-05, an official release said.
The Committee has praised the performance of Bhilai Steel Plant saying that in terms of crude and saleable steel the facility would be producing at 120 per cent of its capacity this year, the release said.
However, the Commitee said the Bokaro and Rourkela steel plants would be operating between 80-90 per cent of their capacity during this period.
