SAIL launches first ‘Apna SAIL Salem Stainless Shoppe’ in Kerala

KOLKATA: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has launched its first ‘Apna SAIL Salem Stainless Shoppe’ in Kerala as part of its effort to reach out to household consumers of its branded Salem Stainless kitchen and tableware collection. The retail initiative comes two days before Onam, the state’s biggest festival, with the opening of an outlet at Kuttookan shopping complex in upmarket Kannur.

Incidentally this is the second retail outlet of Salem Steel brand of kitchen/tableware after SAIL decided to launch the first retail for its kitchenware items in Bangalore last month. This is part of SAIL’s plan to set up a network of retailers at major centres across southern states for marketing the exclusive range of Salem Stainless kitchen and tableware products under the umbrella of the ‘Apna SAIL Shoppe’. The Kannur outlet will be managed by Linkwell Services, SAIL’s newly appointed distributor.

Saswat Mukhopadhyay, General Manager In-charge of Special Steel Marketing, SAIL said: “The Salem Stainless tableware range now placed for retail sales through our distribution network includes an exquisite range of dinner sets, travelling sets, casseroles and a variety of other products which will now be available for the connoisseurs of Kerala. SAIL has also inducted a select range of bowls and baskets recently to add a trendy flavour to the existing product-mix.” A statement issued by SAIL’s Central Marketing Organization on Wednesday said Salem Stainless kitchen and tableware is also available on Flipkart.
