SAIL, Indonesia's Krakatau Steel explore 1 million tonnes stainless steel project

Earlier this week, the state-run steelmaker and the Indonesian company signed a memorandum of understanding to explore setting up a joint venture to manufacture stainless steel slabs to meet rising demand in India.

New Delhi: Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) and Indonesia's PT Krakatau Steel are exploring a stainless steel project with a capacity of 500,000 tonnes to 1 million tonnes under a proposed joint venture, a person with direct knowledge of the plans said.
