SAIL bags first prize for Rajbhasha implementation

SAIL has bagged the first prize, the Rajbhasa Shield, for effective implementation of Rajbhasha from the Town Official Language Implementation Committee.

ROURKELA: The Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) has bagged the first prize, the Rajbhasa Shield, for effective implementation of Rajbhasha from the Town Official Language Implementation Committee, New Delhi.

Veena Upadhyay, Joint Secretary (Rajbhasha), Union Ministry of Home Affairs, presented the prestigious award to B B Singh, Director, Personnel, SAIL during the 32nd session of the committee on December 28.

Upadhyay described Hindi as a link language that bound people together.

"Democratic value, independence of expression, equality, tolerance, liberal attitude and compassion are the shields that keep us united," she said.

For the growth of economy harmonious development of both the Rajbhasha and regional language was essential, she said.
