Rourkela Steel Plant bags CII-ITC Sustainability Award 2013

ROURKELA: Rourkela Steel Plant ( RSP) has received the CII-ITC Sustainability Award 2013 for its significant contribution towards sustainable and inclusive development.

RSP Chief Executive Officer GS Prasad received the award from Union Corporate Affairs Minister Sachin Pilot in New Delhi recently, RSP sources said.

CII-ITC Sustainability Awards recognise the most significant contributions to sustainable development in the country to encourage leaders in this field.

A team of assessors for the award had visited RSP in October and assessed the performance of the plant against various parameters pertaining to sustainable development, the sources said.

The parameters included corporate governance, vision and strategy, economic and financial performance, efficient resource utilisation, stakeholder engagement, brand management and customer satisfaction, sustainable supply chain and social development initiatives etc.
