RINL achieves highest turn over of Rs 1,465 cr in Feb

RINL, the corporate entity of shore-based Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), has registered an all-round improvement in its February performance this year.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL), the corporate entity of shore-based Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), has registered an all-round improvement in its February performance this year.

VSP registered a growth of 9 per cent over the sales of last month (Rs 1341 crores) by achieving a turnover of Rs 1,465 crore, the highest turn over in February since inception, according to a release issued by the company.

Saleable steel sales registered a growth of 5 per cent over corresponding month last year.

Pig iron sale of Rs 199 crore through exports in February this year was 246 per cent higher than corresponding period last year.

Special steel sales constitute 85 per cent of the total saleable steel in February, representing a growth of 13 per cent.

Several initiatives were taken by VSP to boost rural market and the total rural dealers appointed by the plant reached 526 in the country, the release added.
