Rajesh Kumar Rathi new CEO of IISCO Steel Plant, Burnpur

KOLKATA: Rajesh Kumar Rathi has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of IISCO Steel Plant, Burnpur. Since July 2014, he has been operating as ED(Works) at Burnpur. Prior to it, in January 2014 he was heading Research and Development Centre for Iron & Steel, at Ranchi as ED (in charge). Rathi, a BSc. (Hons) from Meerut University and BSc.(Engg.) from Punjab University, joined SAIL at Bhilai Steel Plant in November 1980 where he worked in various positions in Steel Melting Shop at Bhilai,. He was transferred to Bokaro in 2009 and served as GM(Steel) before being elevated in September 2012 as ED (Works).

At Burnpur, he was highly instrumental in spearheading production at the newly commissioned IISCo. Steel Plant. The new Blast furnace 'Kalyani' touched the milestone figure of producing one million tonne of hot metal in September 2015.
