P Saidev joins RMD of SAIL as Executive Director In-charge

P Saidev has joined the Raw Materials Division (RMD) of Steel Authority of India Limited ( SAIL) as Executive Director In-charge on September 14.

Before taking charge at the RMD, Saidev was heading SAIL’s Centre for Engineering & Technology (CET), Ranchi, as Executive Director.

A graduate in Mechanical Engineering Saidev joined SAIL’s Bokaro Steel Plant as ManagementTrainee (Technical) in 1981. He served in different capacities and went to the level of General Manager at the plant. During the tenure he also served as CEO & MD of a joint venture unit of SAIL in Kozhikode, Kerala. In 2016 he was elevated to the position of Executive Director.

Headquartered in Kolkata, SAIL's RMD is the among the largest organisations involved in mining in the country. It handles over 22 million tonne of raw materials to meet PSU steel major's captive requirement by operating most of its iron ore, coal, limestone and dolomite mines located across Jharkhand, Orissa, Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh on the basis of long term leases.
