Odisha can become export hub for metal based industries: Report

KOLKATA: Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik released a report prepared jointly by JSW Steel and PwC India on the state's economic potential on Wednesday. Releasing the report, "Economic Possiblities for Odisha -Towards a One Trillion Dollar Economy," Patnaik said with its strength in investment-friendly policies, infra connectivity and skilled manpower, Odisha is poised to play a key role as a manufacturing hub to achieve the national objective. Apart from the state's mineral based industries, agriculture, food processing sector, creative industries, MSMEs and women entrepreneurship will drive the state's contribution in this initiative.

The Vision Report says Odisha had several competitive advantages and can become an export hub for metal based industries across the world.

Speaking on the occasion, Sajjan Jindal chairman JSW group referred to Odisha as the hidden gem of India and emphasized the role of regional economies in acheiving the goal of One Trillion Dollar Economy.
