Nitish urges Paswan to set up steel plant in Bihar
Nitish Kumar on Sunday urged Ramvilas Paswan to set up a steel plant on the pattern of Bokaro in the state for which he promised to provide 1,000 acres of land.
"Investments have begun to pour in Bihar and an environment conducive to industrial growth has been created. I would urge Paswan to take initiative to set up a large steel plant on the pattern of Bokaro," Kumar said after laying the foundation of Sonalika tractor factory at Fatuha Industrial area in rural Patna.
The Chief Minister promised the government would approach the farmers for acquiring land for the steel plant.
He also requested Paswan, who also holds the Chemicals and Fertiliser portfolio, to reopen the closed fertiliser factory at Barauni as soon as possible.
Rubbishing Railway Minister Lalu Prasad's allegation for delay in acquisition of land for railway projects in the state, Kumar said the government was making available land in a prompt manner and demanded that work on these be completed on time.
Sonalika's Fatuha unit would manufacture 40,000 to 45,000 tractors annually.
