Nalco cuts product prices by Rs 2,000 per tonne

KOLKATA: National Aluminium Company, Nalco, one of the largest aluminium producers in the country, has decided to cut product prices across all segments by an average of Rs 2,000 per tonne.

The price reduction will be effective from June 25, 2011. This is the second time in less than a fortnight that Nalco has resorted to a lowering of prices.

The company has said the reduction in prices is a discount being offered for a limited period. Earlier this month, the company had reduced basic product prices across all product segments, by Rs 5,000 per tonne.

Nalco’s efforts on prices have been prompted by the movement of aluminium prices on the benchmark London Metal Exchange, to which domestic prices are linked.
